Tektro Brake Bolt for converting Tektro brakes (e.g. Tektro R-540, R-539 and R-559) from the modern standard with short bolts to the old standard, where long bolts were used and secured with nuts instead of sleeve nuts that go inside the fork crown.
To convert the brakes, only one long bolt is required, which replaces the short rear brake bolt. The brake with the long bolt is then mounted as front brake and the brake with the short bolt is used as rear brake. Please note: the installation of the long brake bolt requires some mechanical skills and should therefore only be done by experienced mechanics or specialist workshop!
PLEASE NOTE: Tektro has used M6xM7x73mm bolts on the R539, R540 and R559 brakes, but they have also used M6xM8x75.5mm. Usually you can see this without measuring: M6/M7 - the brake has a ring nut, M6/M8 - the brake has a nut for 14 mm wrench.
Scope of delivery: 1 brake bolt, 1 washer M6x12, 1 self-locking nut M6.
If you are buying a Tektro brake from our shop now and do not know which bolt fits, please just choose any of the two bolts. We will then automatically send the correct bolt that fits the brake.
